Community Guidelines
Last Updated: November 28, 2025
QCal is a social calorie-tracking app. Our community works because people share real meals, real progress, and support each other. These Guidelines apply everywhere on QCal — profiles, posts, comments, communities, groups, the For You / Following / Trending feeds, creator pages, and direct messages (Inbox).
Violating these Guidelines may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination, with no refund of any subscription fees.
What we encourage
- Share your meals, recipes, macros, and progress
- Build and join communities around your goals
- Support creators and follow people who motivate you
- Report content or accounts that break the rules
What's not allowed
1. Eating-disorder and harmful-diet content
No pro-ana / pro-mia content, no glorification of starvation, purging, or extreme calorie restriction. No "what I eat in a day" content built around medically unsafe intakes. We may add safety resources or remove content that risks user health.
2. Harassment and hate
No targeted harassment, bullying, threats, slurs, doxxing, or hate based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, body size, or any protected characteristic. Body-shaming is harassment.
3. Nudity and sexual content
QCal is a food app. No nudity, sexually explicit content, or sexualized imagery — and absolutely never content involving minors. Such content is removed and reported to authorities where required by law.
4. Violence and dangerous behavior
No content depicting or promoting violence, self-harm, suicide, or dangerous challenges.
5. Illegal goods and regulated products
No sale or promotion of illegal drugs, prescription medications, unverified weight-loss supplements, or other regulated products.
6. Spam, scams, and manipulation
No spam, fake engagement, follow-for-follow rings, bots, scraping, fake giveaways, phishing, or undisclosed paid promotion. Disclose sponsored content clearly.
7. Impersonation and misinformation
Don't impersonate other people, brands, or QCal staff. Don't post health or nutrition claims you know to be false.
8. Intellectual property
Only post content you own or have permission to share. Repeat infringers are removed under our DMCA / Content Policy.
9. Privacy of others
Don't post other people's photos, contact info, or private information without their consent.
10. Platform abuse
No reverse engineering, scraping, automation, or attempts to circumvent moderation, rate limits, or age gates.
How moderation works
We combine automated systems and human review. We may remove content, blur imagery, age-gate posts, demote content in feeds, mute, block, suspend, or permanently ban accounts.
Per Apple App Store requirements, we respond to reports of objectionable content within 24 hours and take action where appropriate.
Reporting
Use the in-app report tool on any post, comment, profile, group, or message — or email support@qcal.info with a link or screenshot. You can also block users at any time from their profile.
Appeals
If your content or account was actioned and you believe it was a mistake, email support@qcal.info with your username and the content in question. We'll review and respond.
Minors
QCal is for users 13 and older. Users between 13 and 17 must have parental consent. We do not knowingly allow accounts for children under 13 — report suspected underage accounts to support@qcal.info.
